Product Introduction
Hot-rolled steel coil: A steel product formed by continuously rolling and curling a steel billet through a rolling mill at high temperature (usually above 1100°C). Its process characteristics determine that its surface is rough and its dimensional tolerance is large, but it has the advantages of high strength and low cost. Its core value is that it is an industrial basic material and is widely used in scenarios that require low surface quality but high load-bearing capacity, such as building structures, machinery manufacturing, etc.
Common specifications
Thickness: 1.5mm~25mm (common 2.0mm~12mm).
Width: 600mm~2200mm (depending on the rolling mill capacity).
Coil weight: 10~30 tons/coil, the maximum single coil weight can reach 40 tons.
Features and Advantages
Mechanical properties:
Strength: Low yield strength (such as Q235B about 235MPa), but good toughness.
Ductility: Better than cold-rolled steel, suitable for stamping, bending and other forming processes.
Surface state:
- Covered with gray oxide scale (Fe₃O₄), which needs to be removed by pickling (pickling hot-rolled coil).
- High surface roughness (Ra 6.3~12.5μm).
Dimensional accuracy: Large thickness tolerance
(±0.1mm~±0.5mm), width can reach more than 2000mm.
- Low production cost, suitable for large-scale manufacturing.
- High toughness, excellent impact resistance.
- Can be used as a substrate for cold rolling, galvanizing, and color coating.
